Scar Endometriosis- Case Report and review of literature-Gynecology conference 2017
Endometriosis is a benign estrogen dependent condition found in 6-10% of the female population. (1)Subcutaneous endometriosis near the cesarean delivery scar is rare form of extrapelvic endometriosis, occurring in 0.03-1.5 % of all women having cesarean deliveries.(2)
Here is a case report of a 39 year female G3P2L2 previous 2 LSCS with term pregnancy with a scar endometriosis on right side of her previous scar area which was excised at the time of the elective repeat cesarean section..Thepost operative period was uneventful and no recurrence occurred in the 4 months follow up period.
Scar Endometriosis should be suspected in women complaining of abdominal pain with lump near scar site after an obstetric surgery. USG guided FNAC may be considered as an investigational tool.
